Panorama (Πανόραμα) Messinia
Panorama, [4] formerly referred to as Troukaki, is a semi-mountainous settlement near Sidirokastro and is administratively part of the Municipality of Trifylia, in the Prefecture of Messinia.
Location
Panorama is located about 23.5 km northeast of Kyparissia and about 9.5 km northwest of Sidirokastro. It has an altitude of 475 [1] [5] meters and is about 8.5 kilometers off the coast of the Ionian Sea. Near Panorama, to its east, is Pteri at a distance of about 5 km and to its northwest is Karyes at a distance of about 4 km.
History
The village has a history that follows the general history of Trifylia. With its older name as Troukaki, it was first annexed to the old Municipality of Avlonas in 1897, [6] [7] [8] where it remained, until 1912, when the municipality was abolished. In 1899 the village was moved from the Prefecture of Messinia and belonged to the Prefecture of Trifylia, [9] for about a decade, until 1909, when it returned to the Prefecture of Messinia, [10] as a settlement of the Province of Trifylia. From 1897 to 1940 the village was officially called Troukaki. In 1912, Troukaki was first annexed to the Community of Kopanitsis, [11] [12] to which Kopanitsa (Karyai) was the seat until 1916, [13] which was later detached from this community and annexed to the Community of Karamustafa [14] with headquarters in the settlement of Karamustafafa (today Avlonas), which also included the settlement of Sklaveika (today Pteri). In 1922 Karamustafas and his community were renamed Avlon and Avlonos Community respectively. From 1940 to 1956 the village was officially called Troukakion. In 1956 [15] Troukakion was officially renamed Panorama. The village remained in the Community of Avlonos, with the changes in the names, both of the village itself and of this community, from 1916 to 1997, when then, in the context of the changes that occurred in the local government, through the plan "Kapodistrias ", Avlon, Panorama and Pteri were subject to the abolished Municipality of Avlona, Messinia, [16] [17] until 2010. Since 2011, after the new changes of the" Kallikratis "plan, Panorama now belongs to the new Municipality of Trifylia. [ 18] [4] This municipality was established with the Kallikratis Program with the merger of the pre-existing municipalities of Aetos, Avlonos, Gargaliana, Kyparissia, Filiatra and the community of Tripyla. Panorama today is a settlement of the Local Community of Avlonas of the Municipality of Trifylia, [4] based in Avlona and which also includes the settlement of Pteri.

The settlement, based on the 2011 census, has 19 permanent residents, who are mainly employed in various agricultural tasks.
