Agios Andreas (Άγιος Ανδρέας) Arkadia
Agios Andreas is a settlement in the municipality of Voreia Kynouria, built on the slopes of a hill near the sea, next to a plain overgrown with olive trees. It is located on the Astros-Leonidiou road, 6 km from the first. [3] At this point the gorge of Zarbanitsa ends as well as the river Vrasiatis passes, just before its estuary in the Tyrrhenian Gulf. It is the main village of the area and is inhabited mainly by Tsakones. [4]
At a distance of 3 km is the beach of Agios Andreas with a picturesque port. On a hill near the site one can see the ruins of a cyclopean wall that according to archaeologists belong to the Kynourian Cynical city of Anthiny. Nearby, an old stone arched bridge is still preserved.
Within the boundaries of the community is the standard settlement for the expatriates, the Arkadiko Chorio, the last settlement before South Kynouria.
The village has a football club called A.M.S. Vrasies [5]
It is the place of origin of the lawyer Dimitrios Vervesos. [6]
