Kipouries (Κηπουριαί) Chios
Kipouries is a very small village in northern Chios, at a distance of about 36 kilometers from the city of Chios. Today it belongs to the homonymous municipal district of the Municipality of Chios. The average altitude of the village is 340 meters above sea level. Kipouries is considered one of the "villages of Pellinaios", the highest mountain in the whole island, although it is built on the western slopes of the mountain `Oros, south of Pellinaios. The nearest settlement-village is Fyta, at a road distance of 2.4 km (straight distance less than one and a half kilometers) to the north and higher. In the past, Kipouries belonged to the Plant community. West, low below Kipouries, is the ravine of the torrent Malagiotis.
The village is known for its rather large stone square.

Kipouries have plenty of water from their springs and many gardens, from which their name may come. The village is built between olive trees and pines. Its inhabitants are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry and beekeeping. Mostly olives, legumes and vegetables are produced.
The parish church (the "village church") of Kipouria is honored in the name of Agios Panteleimon. There are also old chapels in the area, such as Agios Georgios in the south and Agios Nikolaos in the ravine. The village is ecclesiastically under the hierarchical supervision of Volissos of the Holy Metropolis of Chios, Psara and Oinousses.
