Keramos (Κέραμος) Chios
Keramos is a small village in northern Chios, about 55 km from the city of Chios. Today it belongs to the homonymous municipal district of the Municipality of Chios. The average altitude of the village is 220 meters above sea level. Keramos is built on the eastern slopes of Mount Amani, while opposite it rises the highest mountain on the island, Pelinaios. The nearest settlements are the villages of Aphrodisia (higher, to the west) and Chalandra (to the southwest), while from Keramos passes the only road to the north of the villages of Leptopoda and Agiasmata.
The name of the village is etymologically derived from and indicates the "earth tile", ie the soil from which the tiles are produced.
In the area of Keramos, there is also the deserted settlement of Lardatos, according to K. Choreanthis, "once famous in the area for its beautiful women".

Keramos is one of the few villages whose economy has not traditionally depended on agriculture, as it has long been known for the hot metal baths of its thermal spring, as well as for the antimony mine. The mine has not been operating in recent decades, but the operator's facilities are being saved. Today, most Keramiotes are engaged in agriculture
The parish church (the "village church") of Keramos is honored in the name of Agios Panteleimon [1]. There are also old churches and chapels. The village belongs ecclesiastically to the hierarchical committee of Kourounia of the Holy Metropolis of Chios, Psara and Oinousses.
The zip code of Keramos is 82103.
