The village is located in the wider area of the artificial lake of Evinos, in an area southwest of it, being amphitheatrically built in the northeastern forested foothills of Mount Psoriaris at an altitude of about 690 to 770 meters [3] [4]. The village has a panoramic view of the area of the neighboring village of Perista which is located on the slopes of Xerovouni while between the two villages a shady ravine is formed formed by Kakavos, a small dry river of the area that flows into Evinos [5]. Near the village, apart from Thermo, which is the administrative center of the area and the opposite neighboring Perista, are the villages of Achladokastro, Diasellaki, Koniska, as well as Platanos and Kato Platanos (former Vonorta) of Nafpaktia [3].

General elements
Regarding the etymology of the name of the village, there are various views and approaches, but some of them do not prevail. The village is divided into three neighborhoods: Epano Mahalas, Kato Mahalas and the Center, names which came from the homonymous fountains that irrigate the village along with four others that exist [5]. In the village there is a rural doctor's office, a guest house, a grocery store, the parish church is dedicated to Agios Nikolaos while in the periphery of the village there are four chapels [5] [8]. The villagers are mainly engaged in viticulture, animal husbandry and trade.
Administrative development
It is one of the villages in the historical area of Kravaron and belonged to the so-called "Ano Kravarochoria" [10]. The then "Berkos" was recognized as a settlement with the Government Gazette 19A of 07/12/1835, when it was subordinated to the then Municipality of Proshio [1]. With Government Gazette 261A of 31/08/1912, the name of the village was corrected to "Perki" [1] and, with the formation of the Communities, it was designated as the seat of the then Community of Perki [1] [11] [12]. On 10/16/1940, the name of the village was renamed "Perkos" [1], as well as the Community [11] [12]. In the period 1997-2010, based on the "Kapodistrias Plan", it was the seat of the homonymous former Municipal District of the "Kapodistrian" Municipality of Thermos [1] [2] [11] [12].
