Nerosyrtis (Νεροσύρτης) Aitoloakarnania
Nerosyrtis, is a mountain village in the prefecture of Etoloakarnania in the area of Thermos at an altitude of 900 meters [1] [2].
Geography
Nerosyrtis is located northeast of Lake Trichonida and towards the prefecture with Evritania and the area of Prousos. It is built between the mountains Milios - Haliki - Ai-Lias of Mount Panaitolikos, in an area overgrown with forests of fir, walnut, wild cherry, maple, holiday with many ravines and water springs from which its name came. In the village there is an association of Nerosyrtiotes that every year organizes the "Nerosyrtiotika events" [3]. It is 53 km A.-V.A. from Agrinio, 22.5 km north of Thermo and 22 km south of Prousos [4]. It was officially mentioned as a settlement in 1835 when with the Government Gazette 19A-07/12/1835 it was annexed to the municipality of Amvrakia [5]. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Haliki, Dafni and Ladikou, they constitute the local Community of Haliki of Amvrakia, which belongs to the municipality of Thermos and according to the 2011 census has a population of 41 permanent residents.
