Paliouria (Παλιουριά) Aitoloakarnania
Paliouria is a semi-mountainous village of Aitoloakarnania in the municipality of Thermo with an altitude of 380 meters [1], which is located west of the river Evinos and on the borders of the municipality with the municipality of Nafpaktia. It is built very close to the banks of the river, opposite Poros and at the point where Evinos joins the torrent Poriaris. Next to the village passes the provincial road Thermou - Loutron Stachtis - Simou and to its southeast (1.5 km) is the bridge (of Poros) that connects Trichonida with Nafpaktia. It is 42 km SE. from Agrinio, 31 km NW. from Nafpaktos and 12 km SE. from Thermo [2]. It was officially recognized as a settlement for the first time in 1981 and was annexed to the then community of Ascension [3]. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Analipsi, the Poor Vineyards, Metochi, Liareika, Marathoula, Livadi, Koftra and Flesouria constitute the local Ascension Community that belongs to the municipality of Thermo and according to the 2011 census has population 27 permanent residents [4].
