Koftra (Κόφτρα) Aitoloakarnania
Koftra is a lowland village of Aitoloakarnania in the municipality of Thermo with an altitude of 220 meters [1], which is located east of Lake Trichonida and on the borders of the municipality with the municipality of Nafpaktia. It is 40 km A.-NA. from Agrinio, 10 km SE. from Thermo and 33 km NW. from Nafpaktos [2]. The provincial road Thermou - Loutra Stachtis - Simou passes through the village. To the west and to the north is the hill Mega Lakkos (618 m. Height) which dominates the plateau of Thermos and has a panoramic view of the area [3]. It was recognized as a settlement in 1940 and annexed to the then community of Ascension. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Analipsi, the Poor Vineyards, Metochi, Liareika, Marathoula, Livadi, Paliouria and Flesouria constitute the local Ascension Community that belongs to the municipality of Thermo and according to the 2011 census has population 69 permanent residents [5].
