Kampia (Καμπιά) Evoia
Kampia is a village of Dirfion - Messapia of the Regional Unit of Evoia. According to the 2011 census, they have 182 inhabitants. They are built at an altitude of 500 m. [1], built on the slope of Mega Loggos, part of Xirovouni. It is the most mountainous settlement of the municipality of Dirfion. They are located 33.5 km northeast of Chalkida. [2]
Historical data
Ruins of an ancient wall have been found on the Malon plateau, above the village. In the gorge of Havros there is a carved rock which is considered to have belonged to the ancient aqueduct of Chalkida. [2] [3] The village is mentioned in an Ottoman tax store of 1474 under the name Kanbiya. According to the store, it had 14 houses. [4]
In 1835 Kampia was annexed to the municipality of Lilantia and in 1882 to the municipality of Dirfion. With the abolition of the municipalities in 1912, the seat of the homonymous community of the province of Chalkida was defined. With the Kapodistrias plan, it was annexed to the municipality of Dirfion and with the Kallikratis program to the municipality of Dirfion - Messapia. [5]

Points of interest
Near the entrance of the village is the gorge of Kambia or gorge of Havos. The cave church of Agia Kyriaki is located in an area with a water source. [3]
On the mountain of Mega Loggos, at an altitude of 700 meters, is the climbing field of Kambia. The height of the field varies from 8 to 60 meters. The first routes were opened in the late 1970s. [6]
Economy
The village has mainly an agricultural economy. The main products of the village are chickpeas, beans and honey, while it is also known for its fava. Residents also collect radishes, oregano and mountain tea. [2] At the water source of Krya Vrysi is a trout farm. [3]
