Pefkos (Πεύκος) Kastoria

Pefkos is a mountain village in the regional unit of Kastoria at an altitude of 980 meters [1].

Geography - Sights

Pefkos is located on the border of Greece with Albania and the borders with the regional unit of Ioannina at a distance of 17 km D.-ND. from Nestorio. The village retains its traditional character with most of its houses being made of stone and their roofs made of slate [2]. Its old name is Touhoulis and so it is mentioned in 1918 in the Government Gazette 259A - 29/12/1918 to be attached to the then community of Koteltsi (Kotylis) which belonged to the prefecture of Florina. In 1928, with the Government Gazette 156A - 08/08/1928, it was renamed Pefkos. In 1941, with the Official Gazette 257A - 31/07/1941, he was seconded to the prefecture of Kastoria [3]. According to the plan, Kallikratis belongs to the municipal unit of Nestori of the municipality of Nestori and with the 2011 census it has a population of 18 inhabitants [4].
