In 1944, with the Official Gazette 82A-13/04/1944, he was detached from the prefecture of Trikkala and belonged to the prefecture of Karditsa [3]. According to the 2011 census, the community has a population of 746 inhabitants, while the settlement has 464. [4]
Association of Koskina Community Authorities
After the annexation of Thessaly to Greece in 1881, the land of the region changed hands from the Turkish tsiflikades to Greeks and the "Agricultural issue" began (see the movement of the colligs). As part of this period, on June 1, 1908, the Koskina Agricultural Association was established, based on 20 proxy representatives and a statute consisting of 21 articles. The statute is prefaced by Alexandros Papadiamantis.
The "Battle of the Harvest"
During the occupation, on June 4, 1944, in the area of Koskinas, the most important battle took place between ELAS Thessaly and the German occupiers. Germans and their local collaborators entered the village in order to get the harvest and the threshing machine. After a 12-hour battle, the guerrillas managed to free all the hostages of the collaborators and the threshing machine. German collaborators had 60 dead and wounded, while ELAS had 10 dead and 10 wounded.
civilization
Alexandros Papadiamantis was appointed teacher for the first time in Koskinas. In his honor there is a bust that was unveiled in the 1960s. Every year the "Papadiamantia" are organized with the support of the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Palamas and are a cultural and recreational institution for the wider region.
