Kalyvia Fylaktis (Καλύβια Φυλακτής) Karditsa
Kalyvia Fylaktis is a mountain village in the prefecture of Karditsa at an altitude of 880 meters.
Geography - Sights
Kalyvia Fylaktis is located west of the artificial lake Plastira at a distance of 10.5 km SW. from Morfovouni (seat of the municipality) and 29 km D.-ND. from Karditsa. It is considered a settlement of the neighboring and most mountainous Elevation Guard created by its inhabitants who cultivated the fields of the area before the construction of the artificial lake. In it there were their makeshift huts (single-aisled structures made of reeds and mud) to store their agricultural products and tools. To the south of the village passes the torrent Megalo Potami which separates it from the settlement of Kalivia. Due to the tourist development of recent years, it has tourist infrastructure (taverns, rooms to let, hostels, hotels). Sights include the route from the church of Ai Giannis Fylaktis to the northern part of the neighboring Pezoula and the leisure and sports areas in the northeast of the village, next to Lake Plastira, where there is a beach, refreshment room and a summer stone theater inside [4].
Administratively
As a settlement, it is officially mentioned for the first time in 1940 that it was annexed to the then community of Fylaktis, which then belonged to the prefecture of Trikkala. In 1944 with the Government Gazette 82A - 13/04/1944 it belongs to the prefecture of Karditsa [4]. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Fylakti, they constitute the local community of Fylaktis, which belongs to the municipal unit of Nevropolis, Agrafa, in the municipality of Limni Plastira, and according to the 2011 census, has a population of 54 inhabitants.
