Mavrorachi (Μαυροράχη) Aitoloakarnania

Mavrorachi is a lowland settlement of Anoixiatiko in the Regional Unit of Aitoloakarnania with an altitude of 58 meters [1], which is located to the north with the Regional Unit of Arta and east of the Amvrakikos Gulf. It is 18 km north-east. from Amfilochia, 3.5 km NE. from Anoixiatiko, while west of the village passes the Ionian Road. As a settlement, it is mentioned for the first time in 1961 that it was recorded in the then community of Anoixiatiko [2]. According to the plan, Kallikratis belongs to the Local Community of Anixiatiko, which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Amfilochia of the Municipality of Amfilochia and according to the 2011 census has a population of 33 inhabitants [3].

Note

Until 1920 there was a settlement of Mavrorarachi in the municipality of Messolonghi [4] while there is also the settlement of Mavrorachi of Thessaloniki in the municipality of Lagada [5].
