Katafourko (Κατάφουρκον) Aitoloakarnania

Katafourko is a seaside village in the Regional Unit of Aitoloakarnania [1] which is located on the northern borders of Aitoloakarnania with the Regional Unit of Arta. It is built on the east coast of the Amvrakikos gulf and at a distance of 16.5 km north of Amfilochia. To the east of the village passes the Ionia Odos while through it the EO Agrinio - Arta. It was first mentioned as a settlement in 1928 with the name Kaforko attached to the then community of Patiopoulo. In 1940 it was repaired in Katafourko. According to the plan, Kallikratis belongs to the Local Community of Anoixiatiko, which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Amfilochia of the Municipality of Amfilochia and according to the 2011 census has a population of 71 inhabitants [3].
