Kato Mastrantoni (officially: Kato Mastrantonion) is a settlement of Achaia in the area of Tritaia. It is about two kilometers from Mastrantoni, Achaia, of which it is a settlement. It is located on either side of the 111 national road (Patras-Tripoli), on the Vountouchla plateau, and is about 32 kilometers from Patras.
History
Its name is anthroponymic and comes from the neighboring settlement of Mastrantoni Achaia and its first inhabitant named "Mastrantonis" [1]. It is a new settlement created after the Second World War by residents mainly of Mastrantonis. In 1891, Ch. Koryllos, who passed through there, does not mention a settlement in its current location, but only the nearby Mastrantoni [2].
On 23/04/1977 (Government Gazette 116A) it is recognized as a settlement and is annexed to the Community of Manesi, in 1997, with the plan of Kapodistrias, it is annexed to the Municipality of Tritaia and in 2010 to the Municipality of Erymanthos [3]. On 05/04/1981, the settlement of Balios was annexed to the settlement of Kato Mastrantoniou, which was abolished.
