Eleftherochori (Ελευθεροχώρι) Grevena
Eleftherochori, officially Eleftherochori, is a mountain village in the regional unit of Grevena at an altitude of 610 meters.
Geography - History
Eleftherochori is located in the center of the prefecture, south of the river Venetikos and 13 km southeast of Grevena. At a distance of about 2 km north of the village is a modern bridge on the site of an older stone single-arched bridge, which was called "Alexander the Great's Bridge" and according to local tradition, Alexander the Great jumped on his horse, Voukefala, from a rocky river bank opposite the other. As a settlement, it is mentioned in 1918 in the Government Gazette 260A - 31/12/1918 to be annexed to the then community of Fili that belonged to the prefecture of Kozani [3]. The village, according to the Kallikratis plan, together with Felli, constitute the local community of Fellio, which belongs to the municipal unit of Grevena of the Municipality of Grevena and according to the 2011 census has a population of 59 inhabitants.
