Neochori (Νεοχώρι) Aitoloakarnania
Neochori Nafpaktias is a small mountain village in Etoloakarnania which is built at an altitude of 850 meters on the slopes of Mount Psilos Stavros. The village is located between two rivers, the river Klinovitis and the tributary of Kalamitis, while opposite it to the west is the mountain Karfopetalias [1]. With the implementation of the Kallikratis program, together with the settlement of Petroto, it constitutes the Local Unit of Neochori, Nafpaktia, which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Platanos of the Municipality of Nafpaktia. According to the 2011 population and housing census of the country's permanent population in Neochori, 129 residents were enumerated. In 1912, with the Government Gazette 261A - 31/08/1912, it was detached from the municipality of Klepaidos and was designated the seat of the community of Neochori, while in 1997, according to the Kallikratis plan and the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997, it was annexed to the then municipality of Platanos [3 ].
Neochorites Association
The Association of Neochorites is an organization consisting of descendants of the village of Neochori, Nafpaktia, Greece. The Association was founded in 1918 in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania. One of its first actions was the installation of a water supply system in the village of Neochori in 1929. Since its establishment, the Association has continuously continued various social and cultural activities on behalf of Neochori, its residents and its global descendants. The Association provides educational scholarships, publishes various publications and donates its proceeds to raise money for various well-intentioned reasons, including projects and programs of our Church. The Association is a member of the Council of Greeks Abroad (SAE) and the Organization of Central Greece of America, Canada (OSEAK), which was founded and operates the Greek Orthodox Chapel of the Virgin Mary and St. Friday in Neochori Park. It currently has about 350 members.
