Historical Data Lotis
Although there is no exact definition of the creation of the village, it seems that it is definitely placed before the 16th century. In the Venetian census of Grimani in 1700, Lotis is recorded with 14 families and a total of 55 inhabitants. Its demographic ranking is much higher than well-known neighboring settlements. During the Turkish occupation, Lotis belonged to the vilayet of Karytaina and to the sepoy (subdivision) of Liodora.
At the beginning of the 20th century and more specifically in the General Census of the Population in 1907, Lotis is depicted with a population of 172 inhabitants, of which 81 were men and 91 women. In the census of 10/16/1940, it lists 79 men and 86 women as 165 inhabitants.
