Galatas (Γαλατάς) Aitoloakarnania

Galatas is a lowland village in Nafpaktia in the regional unit of Aitoloakarnania at an altitude of 15 meters [1]. It has a population of 976 inhabitants according to the 2011 census. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Kryoneri they constitute the Local Community of Galata which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Chalkeia of the Municipality of Nafpaktia [2]. Galatas is built at the western foot of Mount Varasova and east of the Evin River. It is located on the western borders of the Municipality of Nafpaktia, borders with the Municipality of the Holy City of Messolonghi and is between the villages of Evinochori, Perithori and the settlement of Kryoneri. It is 16 km east of Messolonghi and 38 km west of Nafpaktos.
