Panagia (Παναγία) Grevena
Panagia is a semi-mountainous village in the prefecture of Grevena at an altitude of 420 meters.
Geography - Sights
Panagia is located in the southeast of the prefecture, next to the Aliakmonas river. It is 14.5 km NW. from Deskati. [1] Sights of the area are the Holy Monastery of Panagia and the Holy Monastery of Zavorda.
History - Administration
Its old name is Tourgouko and it is officially mentioned in 1918 in the Government Gazette 260A-31/12/1918 to be designated seat of the homonymous community of the prefecture of Kozani. In 1919 it was renamed Tourniki and in 1955 Panagia. [2] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with the Monastery of Agios Nikanoras they constitute the local community of Panagia that belongs to the municipal unit of Deskatis of the Municipality of Deskatis and according to the 2011 census it has 73 permanent residents. [3]
