Palaiochori (Παλαιοχώρι) Arta

Palaiochori is a village in the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka with 8 permanent residents (2011 census) and is located in the mountainous area of ​​Tzoumerka, at an altitude of 710 meters. The settlement is about 55 km from the city of Arta, while the distance from Vourgareli is about 43 km. [1] [2]

According to the Kapodistrias Plan, Palaiochori existed until the end of 2010, a settlement of the newly formed Municipality of Agnanton. Based on the new administrative division provided by the Kallikratis Plan, Palaiochori Agnanton joined the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka. Palaiochori Agnanton together with Artissa, Frasta, Konakia, Katafygi and Agnanta constitute the local community of Agnanton with a total population of 430 inhabitants. [3]

Administrative changes

The settlement was recognized in 1940 and annexed to the Agnanta community. In 1997 the settlement was included in the Municipality of Agnonta and in 2010 it was included in the Municipality of the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka. [4]

The settlement is adjacent to the settlements of the local community of Agnanta.
