Loutropigi (Λουτροπηγή) Karditsa

Loutropigi is a village in the prefecture of Karditsa. It belongs administratively to the Municipality of Sofada in the Region of Thessaly (Kallikratis program).

From 1999 to 2010, according to the then administrative division of Greece, it was the seat of the homonymous municipal district of the Municipality of Menelaida.

It is located on the slopes of Agrafa at an altitude of 740 meters. It is 43 km away from Karditsa. The population of Loutropigi according to the 2001 census is 528 inhabitants. The village was called Smokovo until 1927, when it was renamed Loutropigi. Near Smokovo are the ruins of an ancient city that is believed to be Menelaida, a city in the Dolopes. The municipality owes its name to this city. At a distance of 7 km are the Baths of Smokovo.
