Koutsogiannaiika (Κουτσογιανναίικα) Aitoloakarnania
Koutsogiannaiika is a mountain village in Nafpaktia, in the prefecture of Etoloakarnania, at an altitude of 750 meters [1] on the slopes of Velvitsia. According to the implementation of the Kallikratis program, together with Gavros they constitute the Local Community of Gavros which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Pylini of the Municipality of Nafpaktia and its population, according to the 2011 census, is 9 inhabitants [2].
Geography - History
Koutsogiannaika is located on the western slopes of Mount Makryoros, on the provincial road Nafpaktos - Katafygiou - Ano Chora and is 32 km north of Nafpaktos. The village took its name from Koutsogiannis, who was originally from Karya, an old settlement of Efpalio [4] and was first recognized as a settlement of the community of Gavros in 1940. According to the "Kapodistrias" plan, until 2010, it belonged to former Municipality of Pylini of the Prefecture of Aetolia and Acarnania [5].
