Koritiani (Κορίτιανη) Thesprotia

Koritiani, or Korytiani, is a Greek semi-mountainous village in the municipality of Igoumenitsa in the region of Epirus (Kallikratis Plan) at an altitude of 250 meters [1].

It used to belong to the prefecture of Thesprotia, in the former province of Thyamidos. From 1999 to 2010, according to the then administrative division of Greece, it belonged to the former municipality of Parapotamos. As of January 1, 2011, it is the seat of a local community of the municipal unit of Parapotamos of the Municipality of Igoumenitsa [2].

It is located about 22 km east of Igoumenitsa, on the right bank of the Thyamidos, at an altitude of 250 m. Its population in 1928 was 179 inhabitants and in 2001 it numbered 85 inhabitants. It has had a primary school since 1928.

Ecclesiastically, it belongs to the Diocese of Paramythia, Filiates, Giromeri and Parga. The church of the village is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
