The cathedral of the parish of Keramota is dedicated to Agia Paraskevi. It is a single-aisled church and inside it there is a Gospel of 1840. It belongs to the metropolis of Rethymno and Avlopotamos. [3] In 2011 a church dedicated to Agios Therapon was inaugurated. [4]

At the eastern end of the village, next to the road, is a very large plane tree, about 2000 years old. The plane tree has a hollow which has been formed into a small chapel, the first of its kind in Crete, dedicated to Panagia and Agia Anna. [5] Opposite Platanos is Vrisi from which the village used to be watered. There is a small but beautiful cave that drains water from the tap all year round. Continuous rocky basins of water have formed on the ground of the cave. [6]
