Kato Pitsa (Κάτω Πιτσά) Korinthia
The village of Kato Pitsa is built along the beach of the Corinthian Gulf. It is located 12 km east of Derveni and 43 km west of Corinth.
Kato Pitsa, together with the settlement of Ano Pitsa, constitute the Municipal District of Pitsa, which today belongs to the Municipality of Xylokastro.
The Pitsa Community came in 1912 from the former Municipality of Evrostinis. It consisted of the mountain village of Pitsa (Apano Pitsa), built on the west side of Pitsadeikos Ai Lias height. 1114 m., And the coastal settlement (13 km NE) Pitsadeika or Kato Pitsa. In 1851, with the census taken in Ano Pitsa, 102 houses and 417 inhabitants were found. In 1886 the population was 216. In 1915 the seat of the Community was moved from Ano Pitsa to Kato Pitsa. In 1920 the population was 837 souls. In 1971 there were 783 people living in Kato Pitsa and in Ano 4. In 1981, the population was 780 and 5 respectively. In 1991 the total population was 880 and in 2001 it decreased to 729 people.
