Anaktorio (Greek: Ανακτόριο) is a former municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Aktio-Vonitsa, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] The municipal unit is mainly flat and has a total population of 8,830 residents according to the 2001 census, roughly half of which are found in the town of Vonitsa.

Thyrion
Thyrion is a small village of Anaktorio. Thyrion is named after the ancient city of Thyrion (or Thyrreion or Thourion) near the village. It was one if not the greatest cities in Acarnania, with walls of 9914 m length.
