Sailing, Swimming, Water Polo
“He can neither swim nor say his letters," is a common phrase for describing an absolute idiot in ancient Greece. Swimming was an exceedingly common accomplishment among the Greeks, naturally enough, so much of their life being spent upon or near the sea (William Stearns Davis ). Greeks are relative successful in Sailing events, something that could be considered obvious but it is not. With so many water around modern Greeks were not successfully in swimming events like for example the Germans (without almost any Sea).
