Borghese Gladiator. Copy (ca. 100 AD) of an original of the 3rd century BC, found in Anzio, Latium. Belonged to the Borghese collections, hence the name.

Signature on the tree-trunk support of the Borghese Gladiator: ΑΓΑΣΙΑΣ ΔΩΣΙΘΕΟΥ ΕΦΕΣΙΟΣ ΕΠΟΙΕΙ / Agasias Dositheou Ephesios epoiei (“Agasias, son of Dositheos, Ephesian, made [me]”).
