The Borghese Gladiator by Agasias of Ephesus, son of Dositheus. Discovery at Nettuno near Porto d'Anzio in 1611. By 1613 it was in the Borghese collection. In 1807 it was purchased by Napoleon now in the Louvre. Gianlorenzo Bernini's work David 1623/4 was obviously influenced by the Borghese Gladiator.
