Tziolias.

History
In the area of Myrina, excavations revealed the existence of an ancient settlement dating from the Archaic to the Roman years. This important settlement seems to have been an independent city-state between Kierio and the Diocese. In the past, in the archeological site of Myrina, monetary treasures had been discovered kept in pottery on the ground. Near the village of Myrina there is a light aircraft airport, operated by the Municipality of Karditsa, to which it belongs.
It has excellent roads, squares, paved roads and lighting. The houses of the inhabitants are new and modern. The water supply and irrigation is done from Lake Plastira. It has a new Community Store, Agricultural Clinic, School and Heroon.
In the settlement there are two temples, Agia Paraskevi and Agios Dimitrios. At a distance of a few meters from Agios Dimitrios, fragrant water (Agioneri) gushes out, which they attribute to Myrovlytis Agios Dimitrios and is covered with a special built construction.
The emperor Theodosius IX the Great was baptized a Christian in 380 AD. and the following year convened the Second Ecumenical Council in Constantinople. He showed particular sensitivity to the strengthening of the Church and to the pagan religion. He then asked that Holy Temples be built throughout the empire. Many temples dedicated to the new saint of Christianity, Saint Demetrius, were built. Then a temple was built in the ancient city of Methylion. In 1893, the ruined church was demolished and replaced by the current one. Near the church of Agios Dimitrios is the Cemetery of the village.
How the ancient city of Methylion was renamed
Until 1958, the village was called Miros or Myros. In 1958 it was renamed Myrina (NW FEK 84/2 June 1958 Issue APS).
The name of Myroi or Moiroi is said to be derived
From the Arab general MUR who encamped, in the middle of the 15th century, on the hills of the village to rest.
That the name came from the noun fate (Moira), which means part, piece. Given the information of the traveler Alfred Philipson that the ancient city of Methylion on which the present village was built, was a settlement center, ie a place where passers-by shared, they advocate the writing and name of the village of Moiroi.
Teacher, historian and novelist George S. Manolis, claims that the name of the village should be written Myros, for two reasons.
It is not possible, because General MUR encamped in the village for a while, to take his name from the name of a conqueror.
It is also not possible for it to take its name from some service of people (moira = part).
The historian Ioannis Papadopoulos claims that, in the area of Thessaly, words with the suffix -on and -os were not pronounced (Myron, Moiros). Due to the idiomatic Thessalian expression, the suffix -ος was transformed into -ους. The residents of the village, as well as the surrounding nearby villages, said, "Let's go and get Myros, referring to Agioneri of Agios Dimitrios. writing is due solely to misspelling. Next was Myros to be written and Fates, Fruits or even with different writing.
Konstantinos Stef. Papavarsamis, originally from Myros, author of the theatrical sketch "Stachiologomata" used Costas Myriotis as a pseudonym. Archaeologist Elsa Nikolaou also wrote about the ancient city of Methylion.
