Laliotis (Λαλιώτης) Korinthia
Laliotis is a semi-mountainous settlement in the prefecture of Corinth. It is located in the central part of the prefecture, 6 km west of Kiato, and has been administratively part of the Municipality of Sikyonia since 1997. [1] It borders the settlement of Dimini (Ano Diminio) in the northeast and the settlements of Megas Valtos (Megali Valtsa) and Mikros Valtos (Mikri Valtsa) in the west. Almost the entire coastal Corinth is visible from the settlement, from Xylokastro to Corinth.
The village is first mentioned in historical sources in the Venetian census of 1700 under the name Lalotti and a population of 20 families, while in the first census after liberation, the French census of 1830, it is referred to as Lalioti with a population of 27 families [2]. In the 1886 study by Antonios Miliarakis on the geography of the prefecture of Argolidokorinthia, the village is mentioned as one of the five settlements of the municipality of Sikyon inhabited by a Greek population [3].
The population is mainly engaged in agriculture. Its main agricultural products are olive oil and raisins of the sultana variety. The village has a football team, Efyra Lalioti [4].
