Kato Tragana (Κάτω Τραγάνα) Aitoloakarnania

Kato Tragana is a lowland village in the Regional Unit of Aitoloakarnania with an altitude of 90 meters [1], which is located on the north side of Lake Trichonida. It is about 8 km east of the city of Agrinio and is between the Municipality of Thestiea and the settlement of Paravola. At Easter, the custom of Chalkounia, revived by the locals on the night of Holy Saturday, is revived. It is officially mentioned as a separate settlement in 1951 to be recorded in the then community of Paravolas [3]. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Agia Varvara, Paravola, Platania and Tragana, they constitute the municipal community of Paravola, which belongs to the municipal unit of Paravola of the municipality of Agrinio and according to the 2011 census has a population of 248 inhabitants.
