Kapsorachi (Καψοράχη ) Aitoloakarnania
Kapsoravhi or Kapsorrachi is a lowland village of Etoloakarnania at an altitude of 40 meters [1] [2].
Geography - History
Kapsorachi is located at the southeastern end of Lake Trichonida and through it passes the provincial road Zevgaraki - Kato Makrinou. It is 31 km southeast of Agrinio. In the past, the inhabitants were mainly engaged in tobacco cultivation, but now they are engaged in the cultivation of agricultural products, animal husbandry and fishing in the lake. The total area of the community is 15,659 sq.km. To the north of the village and the banks of Trichonida is the natural harbor "Mourtos" with age-old plane trees that is a place of recreation in the area.
Administratively
It was officially recognized as a settlement in 1928 and was annexed to the then community of Paleochori. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Palaiochori they constitute the local community of Kapsorachi which belongs to the municipal unit of Makrineia of the municipality of Agrinio and according to the 2011 census as a community has a population of 290 inhabitants, while as a settlement 287 [5]. According to the 2001 census, it had a population of 410 inhabitants.
