Kalergo, Evoia

Kalergo [1] or Kallergo [2] is a semi-mountainous settlement of the Regional Unit of Evia at an altitude of 160 meters [1], which is located southeast of Evia and the Aegean coast. It is 40 km (driving) north of Karystos (via Marmari) and 131 km SE. from Chalkida. As a settlement it is officially mentioned in 1879 in the Government Gazette 50A - 25/07/1879 to be attached to the municipality of Karystos [2]. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Agathos, Vrachos, Kallianos, Lenosai and Sotira, they constitute the local community of Kallianou of the municipal unit of Marmari, which belongs to the Municipality of Karystos and according to the 2011 census has 15 permanent residents [3] .
