Fyteies (Φυτείες) Aitoloakarnania
Fyteies (formerly called Machalas [1]) are located in the former province of Xiromeros, at an altitude of 329 meters and are surrounded by the villages of Papadatos, Aetos, Babini and Skourtos. They are built at the foot of a pine-covered hill and are about 25 km from Agrinio and 8 km from the national road Antirriou - Ioannina (Kouvaras intersection). The population according to the 2011 census is 1,210 inhabitants [2] while with the 2001 census it was 1,577 inhabitants.
