Achinos (Greek: Αχινός) is a village and a former municipality in the Serres peripheral unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Visaltia, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Population 3,008 (2001). The seat of the municipality was in Sitochori. The name Achinos is the Greek word for sea urchins.
