Philippos Constantinos (born 1973) is a Cypriot singer. He was a member of One, the first Greek boy-band. He participated twice in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Overview
In 1973 (misled belief has it as 1977), Philippos Constantinos was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. He started performing from childhood. He followed his dream of becoming an actor when he joined a drama school in Athens. He was short listed for the audition for the famous boy band 5ive. He was a backing vocalist in the Cyprus entry in the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest.
In 1999, Constantinos was chosen by the Cypriot composer Georges Theofanous to be a member in the first boy-band of Greece, One. The band became very popular and commercially successful in Greece and Cyprus, reaching platinum sales. Constantinos participated in the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest (in Tallinn, Estonia), the band One representing Cyprus with the song "Gimme", finishing in 6th place.
