Alirrhotius (Αλιρρόθιος ), a son of Poseidon. Hearing that his father had been defeated by Athena, in his dispute about giving a name to Athens, he went to the citadel, and endeavoured to cut down the olive which had sprung from the ground and given the victory to Athena; but in the attempt he missed his aim, and cut his own legs so severely that he instantly expired.
