Kastri on Syros
The fortiffied settlement of Kastri (2500 - 2300 B.C.)
denotes a distinv unit of Cycladic civilisation, the
'Kastri group'. Its 100 - 150 inhabitants lived in small houses within the fortification wall.
A silver diadem may have belonged to a leading member of society
There was found a metallurgy workshop with full complement of tools
In pottery new shapes were introduced such as depas amhihypelion cup.
Their diet included sea-shells and limpets.
