Talanta is a settlement of Syros located 4 km southwest of the capital Ermoupolis.
In the last decade, many businesses have settled in the area. On a hill in the center of the settlement is the sanctuary of the Jesuit monastery and the complex of the monastery of Agios Ioannis the Forerunner, where there is also a nursing home.
Management and population
Administratively, Talanta belongs to the Municipal Unit of Ermoupolis, which belongs to the Municipality of Syros - Ermoupolis. Before the Kallikratis Program, it belonged to the Municipality of Ermoupolis. According to the 2011 census, there are currently 335 residents living in the area.
