Patras

Pratsika (Greek: Πράτσικα ) is a neighborhood of the city of Patras, Greece. In the past it was known as Portes (doors), and it was called so because it was an entrance place to the city. Around 1800 a large area was owned by Sideris Pratsikas who originally lived in Droviani in Epirus. In 1850 his sons Nikolaos, Dimitrios and Spyridon built the church Agios Ioannis Pratsika which still exists and from which the neighborhood derived its name
