Paleochora or Palaiochora (Greek Παλαιόχωρα) is a small town next to the White Mountains on the south coast of the Greek island of Crete. It is the chief town of the municipality of Pelekanos. Its population is around 1,500 and one of its primary industries is tourism.
During the Battle of Crete the town was the scene of fighting between motorcycle-riding troops of the German 95th Reconnaissance Battalion and the Eighth Greek Regiment (Provisional) with elements of the Cretan Gendarmerie.
