Palaioplatanos (Παλαιοπλάτανος ) Aitoloakarnania

Palaioplatanos is a mountain village in Aitoloakarnania at an altitude of 580 meters [1], which is located at the northeastern foot of Mount Arakynthos (Libra) and south of Lake Trichonida. It is 24 km N.-NA. from Agrinio. As a settlement it is mentioned in 1853 to be attached with the Government Gazette 19A-07/12/1835 to the then municipality of Kerasia of the prefecture of Aetolia and Acarnania [2]. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Mataraga and Agia Marina, they constitute the local community of Mataraga, which belongs to the municipal unit of Arakynthos of the municipality of Agrinio and according to the 2011 census has a population of 33 inhabitants.
