Palaiokarya (Παλαιοκαρυά) Aitoloakarnania

Palaiokarya is a semi-mountainous village of Aitoloakarnania which is located at the northwestern foot of Mount Panaitolikos at an altitude of 358 meters [1] and is 24 km NE-NW. from Agrinio. [2] To the north of the village passes the stream of Zervas which ends at the artificial lake of Stratos. As a settlement, it has been included in the Greek censuses since 2001 as part of the then Municipality of Panaitolikos. [3] According to the Kallikratis program, together with Kerasia, Malevros and Palaiokerasia, they constitute the local community of Keraseas, which belongs to the municipal unit of Panaitolikos of the municipality of Agrinio and according to the 2011 census has a population of 23 inhabitants.
