Marmara (Μάρμαρα) Paros
Marmara is a Mediterranean village on the island of Paros on the east side. Formerly, administratively, it belonged to Lefkes, Paros. In 1958 it had a population of 345. In the last census (2001) it numbered 542 inhabitants. Today it is the seat of the municipal district of Archilochus, which includes Prodromos Paros, and the coastal settlement of Molos Paros, which is also the port of the previous ones.
The name of the village comes from the large number of marbles scattered around the village. Marmara is agricultural with many orchards, their own waters and rich agricultural and livestock production with the breeding of many cows. Here is the cheese dairy of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Paros. A special attraction of the area is the church of Taxiarchis of the 17th century, at the entrance of the village.
