Lidoriki (Λιδορίκι) Fokida
Lidoriki is a traditional and picturesque main village ( Kefalochori) in the Regional unit of Fokida. Today it is the capital of the Municipality of Dorida.
Its name is related to the ancient Dorians. As Lidoriki it is mentioned for the first time in the episcopal catalogs of the time of Leo VI of Sophia (886-912 AD), during which there was the Diocese of Lidoriki, which belonged to Larissa. Traces of its ancient settlements can be found in Paliochori, Kaltezias and Tragoudakis, where the old settlements are located.
It was also the seat of the former Municipality of Lidoriki, until 2010. Its population, according to the 2011 Census, is 875 inhabitants.
It is built at the foot of Giona above the Mornos River. It is located at an altitude of 550 to 700 meters. West and fifteen kilometers from Lidoriki, is the dam of the artificial lake of the river Mornos, which was created for the water supply of Athens - Attica, etc. Just below Lidoriki passes the largest tunnel in Greece (16.5 km long), which pierces the volume of Giona and exits over the fortress of Amfissa, through which passes the water channel of the lake to Attica.
