Kontakaiika (Κοντακαίικα) Samos
Kontakaiika (Also known as Kontakeika), is located in the northwestern part of Samos, 5 km from Karlovasi. The village belongs to the prefecture of Samos. According to the 2011 census, the village has 962 inhabitants. [1]

The village is built at the foot of Mount Karvouni, while the altitude of the village is 162 meters. [4]
According to Ep. Stamatiadis, in 1750 George Kotis came from Kos and bought lands for cultivation. His sons later married women from the village of Hydrousa, built houses in the present-day area of Kontakaeika and thus became the first inhabitants of the village. [3]
To the west of the village there is Kastrovouni, at the top of which there were ancient tanks and ruins that testify that there was a fortress there. [2]
Finally, the main source of income for the Village is agriculture.
APSES Pythagoras Kontakaiikon
The association APSES PYTHHAGORAS was founded in 1978 by residents of Kontakaiika, "with the aim of promoting, disseminating, cultivating and developing sports and sportsmanship in general", as recorded in the articles of association. The department that has existed since the beginning of the club's operation is that of football. 42 years of history with 4 Championships, 3 Cups and 2 Championships of the 2nd Division, appearances in a promotion barrage in the 3rd National and established as one of the best teams on the island. It maintains academy departments of all ages and the big goal is to complete the work as soon as possible to improve the Kontakaiikon Stadium, which will give a new impetus to the sport of our village.
Since 2012, the dance department of APSES PYTHAGORAs has been created. An effort that over the years increases its dynamics, its members (it has departments of all ages that increase year by year) and its offer, with a presence in many dance activities and with a cultural orientation that aims to highlight the values and of the tradition of the village of Kontakai.
In the village, the sports and cultural association of A.D.E.S. Pythagoras Kontakaiikonon is very active, organizing a tomato war and a wine festival every summer [5]. At the same time, the team has a men's and women's football department, a football academy and a cultural department. It was founded on April 23, 1978. The team uses the Municipal Stadium of Kontakaiki, while for some matches, including the matches of the Play-Offs promotion to the Third National, it has been used by the Municipal Stadium of Karlovasi.
To date, the team has won 8 titles:
Ε.Π.Σ. Championship Samos: 4 (2015, 2016, 2017, 2020)
2nd Ε.Π.Σ. Championship Samos: 2 (1986, 2009)
Ε.Π.Σ. Cup Samos: 3 (2003,2016, 2017)
Pythagoras, since he won the EPS championship. Samos for the 2016-17 season, had the right to participate in the Third National for the next season. However, due to the bad finances that every island team has, Pythagoras will continue in the local championship and will not advance to the Third National for the 2017-18 season.
