Iardanos (Greek: Ιάρδανος) is a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pyrgos, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Its seat of administration was the village Vounargo. Vounargo is accessed by GR-9 about 3 km west. The hills are to the north and northwest. The location SE of Amaliada, S of SSW of Patras, SW of Simopoulo, WNW of Olympia, NW of Pyrgos and about 16 m NE of Katakolo.

Geography

Vounargo is surrounded by olive and other types of groves along with pastures and mixed farming. The mountains, forests and several valleys lie to the north and to the northwest. Much of the mountains are forested. A mining area, situated north of Vounargo, is presently abandoned.
