Work in progress to control the flow of the river Glavkos / Levkas
Glavkos is a river in the prefecture of Achaia. Its source is on the Mount Panachaiko. It flows in the south part of the Gulf of Patras. its name is derived from its old name Levkas. The village Glavkos as Levka part of the municipality of Patras are named after the river.
The river forms a natural borde between the Patras and the municipality of Messatida.
In 1927 a hydroelectric powerstation of Glavkos was build for the energy supply of the region of Patras.
